Harry S. Colt abandoned his law practice in favor of a career as a golf course architect. He went on to become one of Britain's top designers and was the first to prepare blueprints for a course. He designed several renowned courses in America and the U.K., including a redesign of Royal Liverpool Golf Club, the site of this year’s Open Championship on July 20 -23.
