Join us as we celebrate the birthday & legacy of the golf architect who inspired the design for our 17th hole!
Stanley Thompson was born on September 18, 1893. He was a Canadian golf architect, who designed some of Canada's greatest courses, including Jasper Park and Banff Springs in the Canadian Rockies. He was known for his strategic designs and flamboyant bunkering, and his fame quickly spread. Thompson had a big personality with a nickname "The Toronto Terror" and made and spent fortunes. The design of our 17th hole demonstrates Thompson's application of art principles to golf architecture, showcasing his mastery in creating informal balance, emphasis, rhythm, proportion, and harmony in his designs.
